Glassfiber-reinforced
resin, 12' height. Commissioned by a graduating class of Atlantic
Union College in South Lancaster, Massachusetts as their
gift to the college campus. They requested that the piece commemorate
the first coming of Christ to the world, so symbolic forms
of the sphere and the cube were used to denote the heavenly
& earthly realms respectively. The articulated legs &
fanged cube refer to the massacre of the innocents by King
Herod, alluded to in the Scripture as "the dragon waiting
to devour the seed of the woman as soon as it is born."
